Two words: Columbus rocked!

The weather both at home and in Columbus was perfect. The airport hassles minimum, the flight almost stupid short. After shuttling to the hotel, Jeff and I checked in, then he went off to register for the conference while I took our stuff to the room and settled in. Once we were all set we took a little break then it was time for lunch.

Now this is the part that I will never stop enjoying. I love meeting people in person for the first time that I have known online for a while. Lunch would be one of these occasions. By the good graces of [livejournal.com profile] jeffinthebox with [livejournal.com profile] stripedtiger in tow, the four of us were heading out to lunch. I have known [livejournal.com profile] stripedtiger (and all of his various personas *g*) for umpteen years but never met in person for some dumb reason or another. I've gotten to know [livejournal.com profile] jeffinthebox in my relatively brief stint here at LJ. Nevertheless, it was like we all have known each other for a comparitively longer time, so our lunch, though somewhat short given the constraints of a workday seemed like a gathering of old friends. The food at Max & Erma's was good, and once we left the restaurant and had a little picture taking session, it was back to the hotel where we sent our cute friends off only after I picked them both up in my trademark bearhug and shook their lunches up and carried Jeffsansthebox around the parking lot.

Back at the hotel, Jeff did his cheffly duties while I watched teevee and took a nice big nap (shuddup, I deserved it). I made my call during this time and as dinnertime neared I finally got to meet the mysterious and unbefuckingly gorgeous [livejournal.com profile] champdaddy as he came to the hotel to spirit us away for dinner. We took our time at Don Pablo's and got to know each other while watching the wait staff destroy another table's dinner by sending it crashing to the floor right before their eyes. Aye caramba. Afterwards we all retreated back to the hotel and enjoyed each other's company till the exhaustion of the preceeding week took me and Jeff over and we collapsed tired but happy. And full.

Saturday I left Jeff to hobnob with his fraternal tall-hat-wearing brethren while I headed to Paramount's King's Island with the inseparable triad of [livejournal.com profile] manticorepgh, [livejournal.com profile] baeritone and [livejournal.com profile] cyph0enix. w00t! Coasters, coasters, coasters! The Son Of Beast coaster actually loosened my back up. It was like old times. Must. Go. To. More. Amusement. Parks!

I'll be back at PKI in the not-too-distant future (hopefully) when The Italian Job Stunt Track coaster opens later in the year. It's a must-do for us MINIacs. Besides, my ticket is good for one more visit. Wooo!

After a dinner of pizza, subs and Portugese telephone entertainment, it was back to the hotel for me where I collapsed with a smile on my face and Jeff in my arms. I slept like a log.

An uneventful flight home in gorgeous weather today and another dinner out and not soon afterwards we are both home and I am getting set for what will undoubtedly be yet another week for workaday drudgery. But I can smile as I think of the god time that I had this weekend.

Guys, I thank you once again for everything. Y'all are the best. I cant wait till we do it again. *backcrackling bearhugs*
