I think it's probably unavoidable at this point that eventually everyone will get a fraudulent charge or their number jacked. I can remember when I was the only one I knew it had happened to. Now I'm not sure I know anyone except maybe my folks who rarely use credit cards who have not had some sort of issue. I had someone hack my ATM card for my first experience of this. My issuing credit union refunded everything immediately and then they were very specific about the mechanisms used to do it and that forever changed my behavior about using ATM machines. That lesson is never use an ATM machine not attached in some way to an actual bank building.
