Some random facts, thoughts and opinions, in no particular order or apparent relation to one another:
My back is still making life difficult for me. Doc gave me Celebrex for it. That officially makes me middle-aged I guess.
It's snowing rather seriously outside right now, and like last winter, which was quite bad for these parts snow-wise, it wasnt prefaced by any flurries; the first snowfall is once again one with significant accumulation.
The Hoover Steam-Vacâ„¢ I got a couple weeks ago kicks ass.
Television has become a far more vast wasteland than anyone who had originally made that observation could have ever predicted. Added kicker: People are paying for it now.
Comcrap has just doubled my internet speed at no extra cost. (At least this month)
J. Edgar Hoover (no relation to the above Steam Vacâ„¢)seems to be back in control of the FBI.
SpongeBob SquarePants ownz j00!
The heated seats in the Mini Cooper make for toasty buns in addition to making the trip to and from the doc with an impossibly painful back a tad more bearable.
The dishwasher leaked all over the floor yesterday morning, I have been able to check it out yet, but I have a feeling I am gonna replace it. That's a good thing, because I have been making stoopid little repairs to it over the past 15 years, and it's time it gets tossed for something better.
A bunch of us were reminiscing when gay.com chat rooms had a limit or 25 people, and were geographically split. Those were the good old days.
I was reminiscing to myself shortly thereafter how at times the room list would be better titled "Guys Who I Had Sex With". Seriously, I had some rather trampy periods several years ago, before wedded bliss. Would I do it again? Heyell yeah. I had a lotta fun. It would be impossible to achieve the same ratio with the room list. (A quick check of the room list now shows only three people I have even met in person, out of 144 entries. No previous fuckbuddies to be found though.)
I cant wait to replace my studio PC with the watercooled, overclocked video/audio workstation extreme that's been sitting in the basement Lab Of Impending Mayhem awaiting a different power supply and two huge additional drives.
The transmission I rebuilt and tweaked in the truck is working better than I had expected. w00t.
I need a new set of headphones.
Jeff has got a cold that he either gave to me or vice versa. No w00t.
Mom has gotten some potentially troubling news today from the doctor regarding her health. More tests needed at the University of MD Medical Center coming. Keep her in your best wishes that it's not serious.
Mark my words: America is heading to a Tianamen Square-like confrontation between it's citizens and the government. It wont be as heinous or on the same scale as what happened in China, but it will most likely involve a peacekeeping force killing unarmed, peaceful protesters in a rather large, public setting. It seems inevitable, given the current trends.
Melissa will continue to be the standard to which someone is measured to be called 'the shit'. Just ask her.
Electric generators remain in stark supply. The big Generac I ordered a few weeks ago is on an 8 week national backorder.
I am going through 'bear event' withdrawals.
I expect MD to use a sizeable amount of it's salt reserves on this current snowfall.
I caught another mouse in the basement.
If eggrolls have eggs in them, what do spring rolls contain?
"The Simpsons" has yet to jump the shark.
Homestar Runner. It's all one needs to get through the day sometimes.
How many Wal-Mart execs were celebrating their weekend profits at the same time they were shedding a crocodile tear for the poor woman trampled in that wretched example of mindless consumerism?
Broadband rawkz. Especially after countless years with nothing better than 28.8 dialup available.
Enough for now. Bet many of you didnt make it this far. :o)

Re: Gay.com chat rooms:
I remember those good ole days. *sighs* You know, we have never met in person yet. Haven't made it down to Annies or anything. I need to. Perhaps I can book an ego<is>him (http://www.redmoonriver.com/ego-is-him/) gig [ end blatant plug *heh* ] or something somewhere down there. That would be faboo.
On a more serious note, is there any particular reason you're worried about a Tianamen-type encounter? I do admit to feeling quite a bit of political tension and I'd argue that we are in a rather dictator-esque government right now. But is there a particular issue or just a general unrest? I admit to being a bit out of the news loop these days.
Made it that far
Snow is falling.
Weekend plans may get screwed by the weather.
Too much work to do this weekend (home and work both)
Looking forward to snuggling with my honey tonight.
- Hey I figured if you could go on about the good, the bad and all things I between, I could add my own observations.
I hope you back starts to feel better and that your mother's health concerns are not that serious.
