With the nice weather, needing to get my mind into a better place and house projects staring me down, I decided to start tearing into the house once again. I took out the one leaky patio door yesterday and replaced roughly a 6 foot by 16 inch section of rotted flooring. Today, after a trip to the hardware store to buy supplies that I thought I had on hand, I will glue/screw the new section of flooring down and install the new door.

After all is said and done, I can look forward to repeating the process almost exactly, as I replace the door in the bedroom.

This sort of thing is kinda like therapy for me. Hard to explain.

I hope everyone is enjoying their extended weekend.

You know, my parents do the same thing. When they moved to their current location, they actually took their 14x70' mobile home, blocked it up, took the axels off and then built onto it to make a pretty nice house. So parts of the house is older than a few others. they bought the mobile home in 1979 so there was a lot they have had to replace is these last years. I think they have replaced every floor in the trailer part (it was originally particle board) and they have had to replumb, rewire everything because the trailer just didn't take too well to it's new surroundings and things stopped working and floors got rotted. Now, they have a very nice home with relatively new construction in it. A good place to retire.

Since you're gonna be an expert at this whole patio door installation process, I have one that needs replaced. LOL.

Hugs! You're in my thoughts, my friend.

Doors, like men, should be well hung.

I hear what you are saying about it being therapeutic. It's nice to be able to fully immerse yourself into a job, without distraction from the rest of the world.

Enjoy it!

I understand it being therapeutic too. Gardening is like that for me.
