From D. B. Fletcher Furniture Designs. Quite possibly The. Coolest. Table. Ever.

And, no, I have no idea what they cost. The old saw applies: If you have to ask, you can't afford it.

Yowza! That is super cool.

However, can you imagine the kind of pinch you'd get with a carelessly placed finger?

There are other videos at the maker's website, and in one of them, the woman demonstrating appears as if she is handling broken glass or feeding piranhas. I think she 'speaks' from experience. X-D

Definitely the table, but, oh, to spend a week on those yachts. *droolage*

I saw that a few days ago as well. They claim that the table is a perfect circle at both sizes. I say bull. The arc edges of the pie-shaped pieces are fixed and can't change their radius. So they either correspond to the smaller table radius or the larger one. Perhaps somewhere in between. But not both. I'm thinking, at one size or the other, or both, the table's actual shape is something other than a true circle.

See, that's how my mind works!

You werent the only one thinking in those terms. It's not discernable from the videos, but I wondered if it was 'circular' in the closed or open form. The drawing you see at the start of the video (with the logo) appears 'round' when open. Yet the table does appear round when closed if you look at the 'skirt' underneath for reference. I think if you look carefully in the second half of the video when the table is being closed, you can see 'corners' where the leaves meet, meaning it's 'round when the table is open.

It looks pretty close. One segment of the table covers a 45 degree arc in the smaller configuration. But in the larger configuration it's more like 30 degrees.

But it also looks like the edge of the table lifts up when the table is in the smaller configuration, so maybe that's how they do it.

If you notice the table when they close it, there's an outer ring that comes up to cover the edges of the pie shaped leaves. Since that pops up to cover said edges, it makes it a circle when closed. There are probably some discernible gaps between parts of the ring cover and the arcs within if you look close enough.

Um, Honey what is that fucking noise? "Oh that. That's just the asshole neighbors upstairs in 9-G playing with their stupid table again".

The part of my brain that only buys things that are easy to clean is screaming bloody murder. Mostly, that's because the other part of my brain, the one that craves gadgets, is sitting on top of it, screaming "shut up! Shut up! Shut up! while beating it into submission.

COOL!

as much as I love it, especially all the purty geometric shapes it morphs in and out of, after one night of entertaining, I would be in surgery, re-attaching all my digits!

damn that is so cool! but I dont think I could even fit the smaller un-expanded size of the table in my house! lol I guess if you can afford that table you can afford a mansion to put it in!

Tom wanted to get one based on the number at the table, but we may have to wait for the 'Target' version. I hate places that exclude pricing even if it is outrageous.
