Well, I was almost done with a very involved and dare I say heartfelt update to my journal, but I ended up puting too much faith in LJ's 'rich text' mode. Sure enough, after several very long paragraphs, my effort to back up what I had written by copying it and pasting it somewhere was thwarted by that option not available in a context menu. Ah well, I held my breath as I hit the update button.

As you may have guessed, I was greeted by an 'unable to find the page' error, and hitting the back button returned me to a blank box.

I am fucking incensed.

I guess I have to be a paid member to have my journal hosted on something other than a Commodore 64.

This makes me not want to bother with this anymore.

I have to try and find which client works the best, the couple I downloaded were crash happy. Small updates I throw into the standard 'update' text box, bigger ones get done in notepad and copied into the standard one. I tried the rtf version a couple times (it's available one whatever PC I may be using) and this time I got carried away... and paid for it.

Even some of the paid members get that message too. :)

It's a server/loading thing. Too many people, your message can't get to the server, the web browser kills it.

A friend of mine writes all of her journal entries in Notepad or Wordpad, then cuts/pastes it into the browser when she's done. That way, it doesn't get lost.

I write everything in Word or Notepad and paste into my journal.
I do not use a client - just internet explorer - my 'puter doesn't like the downloadable clients.

I know how frustrating it is... my stupid machine needs to be rebooted about 6 times a day any more and that's aside from the 4 times it CRASHES in the middle of something... like an LJ update...

Stick around. Please?

p.s. I crashed before posting this... but had it saved in a text file. hehe.
