I almost forgot.

After several dry weeks, it's finally raining outside. That makes me happy, not to mention as well as the plants outside. It's parched and dusty, and this should help some. I hope it hangs in there for a while. Well, until Friday afternoon.

That is all.

It rained a few drops the other day, the first of any rain in over six months. It's odd living somewhere it doesn't rain. California is the golden state alright, everything dies for lack of water. We're at something like one inch of rain so far for the year. eeeek!

Rain is great. I thought I'd be a little "off" knowing how much this side of the island gets (a little over 250"/year). So far it's a daily gig, a little at a time or a downpour for 5 minutes then it's over. We will see what it is like during the "rainy" season, lol. It is nice not having to water as much as we did in Arizona. The strange thing is you don't get any "standing" puddles. Due to everything being of "volcanic" origin, it all percolates down into the earth. We have to plant everything with soil/cinder etc on top of the lava (it's quite interesting). Best thing is that everything grows really fast out here. The lava/soil combination is rich and very good for growing stuff. Earl is haivng a hay day. Will have to post the pics of all the bananas, papaya's, hibiscus and assorted tropics he's planted.

Hmmm... that phrase and that font look awfully familiar. Carry on.
