I was in the process of assembling a post showing the first holiday tree set up in the house in eight years. Just prior I was skimming across my friends entries. It was there I discovered that jamesbeary had died this morning. While he and I were only LJ acquaintances, he was such a kind hearted sort, and had many realtime friends. I cant believe he is gone.

I'm saving my original post for some other day.

Wow, not living on the mainland and not really socializing anymore w/a lot of "gay" men puts me way out of the loop.

I knew James. We met originally at "Fiesta de Los Osos" in Tucson many years ago. He was actually quite a funny person, even w/out speech. It saddens me that, yet again, someone I have know has passed away recently. That's 4 in 2 months. We last chatted about my "going Deaf", and the changes that would ensue with it. I'm so sorry about his passing. He was truly an original.

Saying goodbye to loved ones is difficult enough and when it occurs in December it makes it rather more difficult.

James touched so many in so many different ways, he truly had a beautiful spirit and was a gem to liven up anyone's online or real-time life. I'm grateful I had the pleasure of one of his hugs and I'll never forget his laugh and the ability to put you at ease with minimal communication if you struggled with ASL.
