Camping this past weekend was fun, but as usual, kinda wet. Not the soakfest it was last month, but enough to make things messy requiring a dry-out when finally home.

buffalobear Jeff and his enigmatic partner "The Pork" made the last camping trip to Hillside for the year relaxing and enjoyable as usual. Our other guest and camper-mate marked his triumphant return to Hillside after a 5 year absence in style. I'm assuming it was triumphant, since it showed on his knees. *g*
Coming home I find that all PCs except for the old server and my antique laptop have some sort of issues. I am attempting some final backups of this PC before it's future becomes more doubtful. Three capacitors are blowing their tops and the video card is toast. The PC crashed one time and apparently lost all the Google Talk contacts. Evidently this arrangement is all client-based, unlike Yahoo, AIM et al which store your contacts on a server. So much for it being portable from system to system. It's like old-school ICQ.
And on the most serious note, I am totally floored at the devastation in New Orleans and Biloxi and the surrounding areas. The flood waters continue to rise and the damage has not even begun to be known. This is our 'tsunami'. I hope for the best for all those involved.
