This old house/randomness
Sep. 13th, 2005 11:28 pmFirst off, thank you to all that commented so nicely in my last entry. I would have answered y'all individually, but hammering out replies on a worn-out Compaq laptop keyboard while waiting on 266MHz of blistering Pentium II power to render a page is an exercise in futility. You guys and gals really are a bright spot in my day, and sometimes I cant thank you enough. You guyz rawk.
By now you probably have figured out my posting routine lately; make an entry before hitting the sack (or in the case, from the sack via the wireless laptop cum chesttop) then returning any comments the following evening. I've decided that it's ixnay on the LJ from work, even though it's not blocked from access. I just dont want my personal life being looked at by anyone there who might snoop.
This evening I made Homo Depot almost 8000 bux richer, as I finally got around to ordering the two Andersen Frenchwood doors that I have been lusting after (and needed) for the past two years, among other items for the house and garage. The fall and spring seem to be the times that I engage more in home repairs and upgrades, the summer is full of car projects among the camping trips, and winter has me concentrating on hobbies, music and computer nonsense. Even though it's involved, and sometimes hard work, I seem to thrive on it. My mind has been churning through ideas for upgrades, additions and fixits lately, and it's time to make some of them happen. It's my therapy.
Also, some thanks has to be given to the unnamed, unknown dude At the Home Depot tonight with the huge arms and too-tight tee shirt. The world needs more like these, who have the big guns, know it and are not afraid to display them. He wasnt a huge guy overall, in fact he seemed kinda thin. But those arms had to be at least 20+. All I could think about was armwrestling. Ah well, it's the occasional eye candy that adds spice to life I guess. I love big armage.
In other news, mom is heading to San Francisco next month to see some operas and do some sightseeing and whatnot. I wish I could join her. She's staying a stone's throw outside the Castro and she seemingly cant wait to go and see all the gay folk in their element. I'm sure she will have fun.
This time of year also marks the return of my beard after being reduced to a goatee/van dyke during the summer months. It's becoming whiter and whiter.
