T-Day wrap-up
Nov. 24th, 2006 11:55 pmIt was a mostly Happy T after all. I guess most importantly, I did not have the 'meltdown' I was fearing, instead I mostly stayed quiet. First TDay without Mom, after all. I supplied the 17 pound turkey, Jeff provided a nice fruit salad, his parents did the rest.
Highlights: Food, football, food, two naps on the sofa, football and food.
Lowlights: Kodi tossing his doggie biscuits then peeing on me less than a couple miles from our destination, the nephews overstaying their welcome (this is an ongoing problem, Jeff's sister unloads them onto us and/or his parents way more than is fair, so any chance at having a restful day today to unwind was shattered), Kodi borking up his kibble less than a couple miles from Jeff's place on the trip back, and of course the pall of sad thoughts I had for obvious reasons.
Unexpected surprise of the last three days: Kodi settling down and napping on the passenger's seat nearly the entire 2+ hour trip from Jeff's to my house. This is a first for him, since he usually insists on cramming himself onto the driver's (whether me or Jeff) lap or squirming about the car. Jeff was following in his truck.
Cool-assed bonus: We are gonna be seeing TSO once again, this time in DC, and this time four rows back from the stage, versus the nosebleed seats last Sunday. We can't wait.
