Thanks given
Nov. 25th, 2007 11:41 pmWith my 45th Thanksgiving under my belt I can say that this one was a winner. On Thursday, it was just me and Jeff here at home, with half a turkey breast, mashed taters, corn, sweet taters, punkin pie and all the other requisite t-day trimmings. Was good. Friday all three of us piled into the truck and headed up to PA to spend the weekend with Jeff's mom and dad and various young and old familial units. Not soon after arriving my task was to install a new gas heater, which turned out to be a great success. Saturday was T-Day: The Sequel, were we chowed down once again as a family. Food was good, the house was warm, and we were all thankful. Especially me.
The major holidays still give me pause, a torrent of memories and mixed feelings, and lots of daydreaming. Without Jeff and his occasionally disfunctional but always entertaining family, I dont know what I would do. I have still a lot to be thankful for, but I doubt that I could go it alone very well.
Tonight was relaxing after an uneventful and surprisingly traffic-free drive home. This week is shaping up to be a long and full one, with a lot more to do before the end of the year.
I hope everyone had a great weekend.
