As a matter of fact, it was happy
Feb. 3rd, 2008 12:23 amFeb. 2 marked the start of my 46th humanoid year on Planet Earth. While at first I didnt want any fuss made of it (in other words, no goddam party), I began to feel bad that Jeff had planned a little get-together for today and basically canceled it. I eventually came around, feeling that why should I 1, deprive myself of a good time with friends and 2, allow Jeff to do what he enjoys so much, which is planning and giving parties where food is involved. So, Jeff told everyone that it was back on. Even though Jeff had to work this weekend (starting very early in the morning), he nonetheless started into things upon arriving home. I'm so glad he's mine. :)
Got an unexpected visit earlier in the day from Mom's friend Nola, who always remembers birthdays with a card and the best-ever homemade brownies or fudge. I also took a trip with a friend of mine to the remains of CompUSA to pick through what remains of their going-out-of-business sale. I ended up with a HP wireless print server, a USB2.0/eSATA external drive enclosure, and a 4-channel HDTV video/audio/PCM distribution amp that was part of one of the HDTV displays. This little gem it it's huge array of ports will become part of the home theater setup soon for multi-room distribution.
When I got back, most of the guys had shown up and we began to eat and socialize. Soon afterward, Dave and Will showed up with Junior, their Pomeranian. This was a first for Kodi, another dog visiting in the house. After a short while of getting used to one another, they had a great time chasing each other around the house and taking turns begging for food. In other words, Pomdemonium. Everyone had a great time, the food was plentiful and awesome, and the company the greatest. I am so glad to have good friends like this. I just have to reprogram myself once again to start enjoying the company of and activities with my friends.
If I can look forward to days like this, then I wont mind being around for (hopefully) another 46 years.
Thanks also to everyone in LJ who wished me happy on this day. You guys are icing on an already wonderful cake.
