Jeff surprised me by coming home after only a couple hours of work. He'd been feeling out of sorts the last couple days, and his coming home today was not entirely unexpected. I took him to see the doc this afternoon, who proceeded to tell him to head to the emergency room. Stat. Jeff had complained of chest pains, and as I have learned first hand, there is no dilly-dallying around by medical types. So I take Jeff to the county hospital ER and they shuffle him off to run various tests, leaving me alone and worrying sitting in a hallway. Eventually they had moved him to another room where I could stay with him as they run more tests. Thankfully all the EKGs, x-rays and other tests came back negative for any heart problems. The ER doc said he has some sort of bug, coupled with exhaustion. Doc sent him home with orders to rest for the next several days. I collect my dear hunniebunnie, get us a little take-away meal from McDonald's and bring him home where he's now resting quietly.

I really was trying to keep myself together at times while waiting in the hallway. I don't know what I would do if something happened to Jeff. He's all I have anymore. I can't write enough words into this space to tell how relieved I am that it's nothing serious. I love him so much.

I think it's time we both take it easy for a while. I took a nasty spill getting out of the car at our doctor's office. It seems I still have the occasional loss of control in my legs. It's not as bad as before my spine surgery, but evidently I'm not out of the woods yet.

We're a pair, that's for sure. Sometimes pathetic, but still a pair. And for that I'm thankful.
