So far, not a single person has stopped by for this yard sale. Not one.

It's early, I imagine.

How did you promote it?

If you haven't done so, you should've put in an ad in the local/regional paper(s), address and all, have signs up all over the place advertising that you have a sale and have that ad first publish on either on Thursday or Friday before the sale and run until the end of day of sale (today) if it's all there is so people looking for garage sales can plan ahead.

Some sales attract alot of people right as they open, others, tend to slowly pick up speed but a well advertised one will usually be successful.

I'd stop in just to see the bear running it.

Drat! Same thing happened when I was emptying my house in Guerneville. Posted fliers all over town, and no one showed up, for both weekends.

Well, what do you expect? When your advertising consists of scratching your address in a restroom stall you don't get a lot! ;-)

I didnt expect anyone from LJ for the most part to be interested, though one did, hence posting the address earlier.

Just posted signs in the big crossroads. Before it brought in a lot of folks, several years ago, this time, nothing.

Next time (if there is one) it will be advertised. Used to be just setting out signs was enough. People are either too picky, too poor (in this area? hah), or not interested.

You'd have to buy something though. ;)

You'd think with money being tight these days, people'd be hunting for bargains. Maybe they are just too proud. lol

I know that doesnt get me anything. This time I was trying to sell something of value. LOL

In all my years of going to garage and estate sales, we almost always checked the local paper first before we went and there is often a section devoted just to garage sales and a section on estate sales too.

Yard sales are a hoot...if I pass any during the summer I at least slow down to see if there's anything I might be interested in..usually tools that you only use sporadically and the cost new seems not worth it. I'm kinda surprised yours was a total bust....at the very least, around here anyway, the used furniture store/ fleamarket guys make early rounds.....
