Jerking my cables

I had a bit of an uncontrolled gigglefit at Lowes this afternoon, and I blame LJ. Back to pick up more supplies, among them 1000 feet of Cat5e and a 500 foot box of RG6-QS. Since a good amount of this will be pulled through a long (about 100ft) underground conduit from the house to the garage, and it's bound to be a tight fit, I picked up some cable pulling lubricant. Most often a sort of pasty, yellow glop, there is now a clear version. This is when the snickering ensued.

It's water-based too. And a quart for less than six bucks. Whatta bargain. My first thought after the "other" side of my brain became active was "I wonder what the LJ peanut gallery would think of this". So, here you go. Have at it.

Here are the actual instructions:

As cable is drawn into conduit, apply ClearGlide with hands, brush or pump. Keep cover on container when not in use. Store in cool place.

So not only is there no warnings >i>against skin contact, but explicit directions allowing contact with skin. It's also listed as non-corrosive and non-toxic.

This one has a flip-top cap with a rather substantial (about 5/16" or 8mm) spout inside. It's made for quick dispensing of larger quantities of lube. ^_~

I dug around and found the stuff's MSDS data sheet. I'm not familiar with some of the ingredients, but nothing jumps out at me as being dreadful. It mentions a possibility of eye irritation, but that's true of a number of kinds of lube....

Maybe you should post an Xtube video of you giving the stuff a thorough trial!

A lot of those ingredients are present in 'personal' lube products from what I am aware of.
