Some updates
May. 13th, 2004 08:23 pmMom seems to be doing okay other than (expectedly) she is very weak, has some trouble getting comfortable enough to sleep and her appetite ain't much. Otherwise, I think she is doing good. She's a trouper for sure. She gets her first in-house nursing visit tomorrow morning.
No signs yet that I have been able to find regarding the cicadas here. Due mostly to the fact that my house here didnt exist 17 years ago and subsequently the upheaval of the earth during the building and reworking of the land (it was not a typically desirable plot of land to build on, but I fixed that) most of the areas they had either habitated previously or afterwards was destroyed. I am sure there will be no shortage in upcoming weeks. I dont mind the critters, I find them entertaining and yet another example of how nature shows creatures adapting and evolving. I would like to drag the DAT recorder, mixer and mics outside during their peak and capture their sounds too.
Jeff is heading to PA this weekend to check on his mom who had been hospitalized for a short time but is doing okay now. He also plans on participating in the Relay For Life in his old hometown of Lebanon and revisiting old friends there as well. Relay For Life is a fundraising event for the American Cancer Society which I have participated in as well. Being that Jeff is a cancer survivor and the recent events regarding my mom, it has an even stronger meaning for us.
Our spaces for Hillside Campgrounds have finally been confirmed. Bear weekends 1,2 and 3 plus Car Show/ Wrestling. Illuminations was booked solid when I finally was able to get through, and our names are too far down on the waiting list, so that looks like it aint happening this year. Too bad, it's one of my favorite weekends.
I feel totally overwhelmed with my unfinished house projects with all that has been going on. I hope to catch up someday. I might also have to do what is toughest for me to do, which is ask for help.
I finally got my check for the months of time I have been off on disability with no pay.
It was for a whopping 85 bux.
