Upular

There is something joyfully minimalist and playful in this odd yet wonderful collection of samples of music and dialog from the movie Up. Hard to describe, so just give it a whirl whydontcha. Otherwise, there will be more awkward sentences in the offing.

I posted this on my journal too. :) Love it. I was mentioning that Carl Fredrickson looks exactly like my grandfather.

When I first saw scenes from the movie trailer, and before anyone spoke, I knew that Carl was going to be done by Ed Asner.

I've played this several times, and it keeps on growing on me.

While I thoroughly enjoyed the music and the video itself (having watched it 3 times in a row just now), I couldn't understand any of the dialogue in this compilation. I loved the movie, but couldn't make out any of what was being clipped together.

I think that was the point. The dialog bit are mostly snippets and partial words, and the various utterances and grunts. That's what made it that much more interesting, at least for me. It's almost another language in itself.

I couldn't get through the video even once, because of that.

I still need to see that movie...

I loved the music and the video. Granted I loved the movie, so there is a basis. However, I would dance to this ditty if it was spun on a dance floor.
