World of hurt - I has it.

One of the hardest things for me to do is nothing. Forcing myself to stay resting while giving my failing joints a chance to recover is enough to drive me out of my mind. I can't lay around watching TV or movies, at least not for long. I am hardwired to always be doing something that results in something beneficial and tangible around me. The stir crazy feelings are only greatly intensified when I am behind in so many things. Add to that a nice, sunny St. Pat's day outside and I... AAARRGH!

Anyway, this is supposed to help me mend then enjoy myself in the future, right?

Right?

*sigh*

Being productive

Be a photographer or making CD's or... ;-)

Sounds like you could use a hug.

Wow. I wish I had your problem. I have no issue with watching TV all day! :o|

does it help to think of mending yourself as a real, important activity? (god knows doctors and physiotherapists get paid well to help you do this, so it even has a $ value)

I agree. You NEED to take care of yourself. I know that you have that need to be doin' somethin'. But if you don't give yourself time to heal...you're gonna be doin' NOTHIN' for a whole lot longer. Don't make me come over there!

Sedate is not inactive. Find something that will occupy your thoughts, something to focus your attention. Write letters to people. Start your memoirs. Lay out that next computer upgrade, with lists of possible components and their prices. Juggle your household finances to look for hidden savings. Call your friends and catch up.

Your body is telling you it needs a rest. Your brain is still spinning. Make it do the work for a change ;)

Hope you heal up strong! HUG!

Or you could spend the time looking at pictures of naked men. No wait that wouldn't be consistent with resting. ;)

Well sometimes you just have to stop in order to move forward man.Once your joints feel better you should start taking glucosimine (?spelling) I have been through the mill with broken bones and what not.I broke every finger at one point or another as a kid ,3 ribs, shattered my elbow requiring surgery, dislocated my shoulder flying over the roof of a car when my motorcycle collided with it all before my 18th birthday. Arthritis sucks and I have it but it's controlled with this stuff and by my using the joints all the time. I know just what you are going thru man and I can tell you this stuff has made it possible for me to live a normal life.It takes a few months to work and doesn't work for everyone but if it does work you will feel much better.

Blah, blah, blah..... Geddy Lee of Rush was wearing a shirt that said that on their snakes and arrows tour (I watched yesterday).

It's so fitting on days like today when one's struggling with the crap life throws at us.

Mending is good, idle time is hard... grumble

Lets hope the mending is quickly progressing for you.
hugs
