Fun with choppers
Oct. 31st, 2012 10:45 amLet's say you and your buddy decided, since it is such a nice day 'n' all, to take a casual little helicopter flight around the town. While aloft, you spot some guys flying a remote control model plane. Of course, that's how you started flying before getting your pilot's license, and r/c flight is fun no matter who you are. You then observe the budding pilots do that thing they all fear, they crash their little aircraft high in the trees. You wish you could help them out, don't you?
Well, just go ahead and make their day...
Well, just go ahead and make their day...
I saw this on reddit the other day...
Date: 2012-10-31 03:06 pm (UTC)I can't get over how the co-pilot leans out to get the plane...even though he was strapped in, that looked scary as hell.
I'm also wondering where this was. I looked on several pages of comments to see where this was. I'm guessing somewhere in the Charleston or southeast coastal area of Georgia. Those look like the rice fields with their drainage canals I remember near St. Simons Island...

Date: 2012-10-31 04:07 pm (UTC)I know that is a light helicopter, but I am surprised how little rotor wash there is. I figured the blast would whip the branches around and toss the r/c craft out of the tree. Instead it looked like a light breeze at best. Heli people seem to think they are in flying cars. No doors, enjoying the view, hanging out like it's nothing.
I noticed the rice fields, so I figured it was in the coastal areas down south somewhere.

I too, was surprised at how easy the co-pilot got the plane.
