The bit about Jeff's Mum reminds me of visiting John's mum...which was supposed to happen again this November, but she died earlier in the year. She was still fairly sharp but losing it a bit when we last saw her, and wasn't very mobile and at 101 it was a relief for everyone, really...she'd lived to a grand old age, but the last few years took their toll.
Last time I saw her she stood up with all her might, and told me to look after John, which was really sweet...I promised to. Good memories, and John is OK with it all, it gives some closure.
Still I'll miss going out to South Africa to see her and family, though :-(
