Well, Isabel made most of her rounds here tonight, the power went out and I got the generator out which ran the house just fine as it always had. Life doesnt change much during a power outage. I'm surfing the net and popping food in the microwave and watching TV. That changed for a while as the generator power flickered and began failing, I switch off the power feed and the generator which is just outside the basement door begins making this awful racket, I open the door just in time to see the alternator spitting sparks and pieces of plastic and wire as it self destructs. The main power is back on now, but the generator is history, or at least till I can find parts to fix it. the engine is fine, it's the actual generator that came apart. Bah. At least it worked while it did and kept me powered up to watch Survivor.

Weather report says it's not completely over yet, more heavy winds and periods of rain. I am sure the power will get flaky.
