Okay, I just got back from trying to get some parts to fix my generator that self destructed during the time I was using it during Isabel's reign (make that rain) of terror in my area. Mind you, this generator, as with every other type of machinery and tool I have, is kept in top condition, ready to be used at any time and taken care of to last a lot longer than most people would expect. Well, this thing self-destructed to the point of literally chucking a bearing out onto the ground. In other words, the damn thing was defective from the get-go, it just took a while for it to happen. The thing maybe has 20 hours of usage on it, so it was still like new. The lights in the house started flickering then went out, and I go outside to hear it literally coming apart in a shower of sparks. Oh well, it's maybe 8 years old and I'll go and get parts to fix it.

Wrong again, Clyde.

Seems the stuff I need (basically the alternator portion itself, rotor, stator, and end housing where the bearing was) totals up to about 850 bux. This for a generator that was 700 dollars new. Anyone else see the problem here?

850 dollars will buy a nice new generator. And it will. And it wont be a piece of crap Coleman this time.

Anyone need a nice 9HP Briggs & Stratton OHV Vanguard engine?
