Ah, the smell of mothballs. It's going to be familiar around these parts, because among those mothballs is where my blog is headed for a while. I have lost the desire and enthusiasm I once had for it, and to be honest, I have run out of ideas and direction for this thing. Call it spring fever, apathy, burnout, whatever, but it's just not happening for me. I still am reading my 'friends list' nearly every day, and commenting when I can. Even partaking in that will fall a bit by the wayside in the coming months. I just dont have the time like I used to. It's almost as though time is passing at double speed and I cannot keep up. Work is a hassle, the weekends are not long enough any more, I'm becoming just as much an antisocial loner as I was over 20 years ago and I see no relief in sight. Some things have to give, and in this case, my blog is one of them. It's self-preservation with a side dish of sanity check.

I will still make use of this space for earthshattering news or special events, but the times of blogging for the blog's sake are on hiatus for a while. I wont pull the plug here, that'd be pointless. Instead, I am gonna dim the lights, push in the chairs and close the blinds. The crowds have been gone for a while anyway.

Cheers.

Hope to see ya around these parts once in a while. I know that once the reallyl nice weather hits, the postings may subside for lots of people around here.

I'll keep you in my list of friends to enjoy the occasional post and hope to hear you pop on and comment in mine and other's journals as well.

Enjoyed the posts, take care, hopefully see you back soon :-D

I know what you feel about posting for the sake of, all these memes and quizzes don't do it for me...I post as I podcast now, as I feel like it.

No reason to see a production schedule for non-work things.

hugs

I kinda just use LJ to record something I am thinking about at the moment or post something I like or find amusing. Or, if I happen to see something, I comment back. There is no way you can comment on everything all the time. No biggy. Sometimes I feel guilty that I cant.

I can certainly see how it could get real old and tired though. It almost seems like a popularity contest for some guys. Do people really get off on having THAT many "friends"? What's the point since they aren't going to comment on THAT many friends' LJ's?

I read some peoples' entries (usually about themselves, usually looking for comments about themselves, their pets or BF's),--- sometimes they could be talking about either and you wouldnt know it--- and they have a gazillion ass-kissing comments from their "friends". One particular guy who was on my list (but is now off) is ONLY looking for compliments/praise and NOTHING else). But then, If you check his friends' LJ's, that same person who expects all the adoration doesn't comment BACK on their LJs.

I am sorry to see you "go".

I don't much like the thought of losing the only way I have to know what's happening with you. That said, I don't want you to do this anymore unless it's something you want to do. So fare thee well, Phil. I love you.

you'll be missed, but like most friendships, there's an ebb and flow... take a break and come back soon.

It's ok...

Everyone needs to take a break and enjoy life, and reprioritize things. With nicer weather comes the yearning to be among the flowers and sniffing the sweet spring air with the wind on your face, and all the other shit we have to do in life ( work, etc.)

See you when I see you studly - big hugz and kisses!
