Almost like a meme, I have seen discussions revolving around "A-List" bears and whatnot make their way through LJ-Land.

Isnt the world situation itself bad enough with the increasingly pervasive 'us vs. them' attitudes, political posturing, finger-pointing and pigeon-holing creating tension, distrust, fear and outright hatred among the various people? Do we need to have this drunken bar-fight smash through 'our' realm like a scene out of Blazing Saddles? I just dont get it. Where is this 'evil energy' in all those aforementioned forms coming from? I can tell you one thing - at it's current rate of increase, it will be the downfall of the human race as we know it, and it's just around the corner.

I guess watching my own family, in it's one-member entirety, slowly decline to it's eventual, unstoppable conclusion gives me a different outlook on life in the greater picture. Such pettiness has no reason to be when measured against things that really matter.

C'mon people, stop that shit already.

As I was watching King Kong, I found myself thinking that as a group of chunky gay men, we chose the wrong mascot... Look at a bear (a real one) and look at Kong strutting around with his ass in the air? Which one looks more like something to chase or emulate?
I vote for abandoning the bear thing altogether and raise up the "gorilla flag."

You know...I've always wondered what MADE someone A-list, and more importantly, who made up the rankin' system anyway. I never really worried much about it myself...considerin' that I get ranked and categorized ENOUGH in my life. Besides, I'm too busy droolin' over someone cute to worry about somethin' like that.
