Reclaiming my face

Last week I had enough of my beard becoming ensnared in my work, waking up to a mouthful of it in the morning, and the general raggedness that I was not in the mood to try and deal with. So, it got clipped back to a combination #8/#4. Couple that with a #1 buzzcut and I feel the effects of the rather mild winter cold for a while.

Jeff is enjoying seeing more of my face, I'm enjoying not getting trapped or snagged by machinery.

Well, that's just it - I don't work with machinery where a long beard would be potentially dangerous. Still, you might find this illustration interesting:



As for the day to day stuff - partly, you just get used to it. A beard my length is in some ways less trouble than the length you had - much less likely to wind up in my mouth, for instance.

The only time I do anything "special" with my beard is to braid or "pony-tail" it when I'm out on my motorcycle, to keep it from getting tangled.
