So, this man in Portugal buys a farm (as opposed to 'buying the farm', as it were). Apparently the property owner died and the farm was put up for sale. Pretty satisfied of his purchase he wanders about the property sizing up what might need attention. An old, unused barn that will probably need cleaning out was part of the deal. Upon making his way inside the barn he finds that, indeed, the place needs more than a little cleaning...

Those who are into classic cars, especially Euro makes, will want to click that link like, yesterday. I'm serious.

Wow, you'd be in hog heaven spending the next 20 years making them all run again. Was interesting to see. At one point I owned a Simca and another an 60s vintage Alfa. I hadn't thought about either one in a long time.

I would have to retire just to be able to spend the time in all that. What an incredible stash!

It's a car nut's dream, but also something anyone who likes what's basically a time capsule ripe for exploring would freak out in. I keep looking over the pictures wishing I was there. Can you imagine discovering this? To me, that's better than King Tut's tomb.

OMFG

These are the cars I dream of. Some of those Lancias and Alfas are worth near 6 figures, particularly the Zagato body'd Lancia Flaminia. The Aurelia B20 (V6) is highly sought after and is in the high 5 figures. There's still 178 cars to go. Even some Volvo PV444 and 544 for me! Numerous Minis and Lotus, plenty of big Benz's. Some significant Fiat and Simcas too. Not just the workaday ones. It just goes on and on. Curiously no Jaguars evident. Thanks for the link Phil!

Ha ha! I was SO waiting for you to see this. You were the first I thought of when I found this stuff (especially the 444). In fact, I knew that, if you hadnt seen this already, that you would probably need some fresh air. ;)

I sent the link to my dad and brother, co-owners and operators of our family garage at http://www.356restore.com. They drooled over the white 356 Porsche.

It's like car porn, really.

It's like the deceased was a repo man in the 60s & 70s (I saw a '71 Cutlass sedan in there, oddly enough) for the whole town.

I'm willing to guess, even as-is, the contents in that barn are worth more than the entire property.

I'd start with restoring the vintage Alfas & make my way through.

At first, i was thrilled that he had a few cool cars. Then more and more... when i saw the entire barn full, HOLY SHIT!! What luck...

Appears they may have been stolen originally. Either way, I am not even really a car guy and some of those pics had me going "holy crap". heh. Nice find.

Man! Did that guy score or what. The cars are probably worth more than the farm. I dream about finds like this.

That's amazing. I understand that cleaning up a mess like that can be intimidating. If he needs help, I'll gladly remove some of that iron, and I'll only charge him the transportation costs to do it.

Yuck - a 356. How can he stand to have that in there? I'll just take it away so nobody has to see it...
