Finally, after all these years, I have treated myself to a new laptop PC. An ASUS A7T, it's practically bigger than my lap. 17inch WXGA screen, AMD Turion X2 TL56 CPU, a gig of RAM, nVidia GeForce 7600 graphics with dedicated 256meg, 160gig HD, DVD everything drive, Bluetooth, integrated memory card reader, webcam, Vista Premium, etc. So far, it rawks. Well, anything rawks compared to my ancient Compaq PII-266. I will eventually install all my most used apps on here and I should be set. LJ looks perty good on the thing. I cant wait to try some Photoshop and Audition next.

Date: 2007-06-14 04:21 am (UTC)That's better than my desktop PC that chugs along at 2G Celeron processor, mATX MB w/ 400Mhz FSB/266 DDR memory, not at a whopping 1G, but I do have a pretty kick ass 17" NEC LCD monitor though and a basic MS optical mouse (my second one after the first one had it's cord partially severed by the shredder last fall).
Yup, I rebuilt this thing from an 800Mhz Athlon processor, but w/ a full ATX MB back in 2001.

Date: 2007-06-14 10:32 am (UTC)I promise myself a new computer when I get a job. It's been since early 2000 that I've had a shiny new computer. Way too long... that's several lifetimes in computer years.
