How much do they cost? (And will my sweetie think I'm a total nut asking to get one? Hm, not sure I want an answer to that one.)

According to the Blendtec site - $400. Rather more than I'd care to pay - but they do seem to be about the only place left that makes a combo blender/mixer type unit. I've been considering a new blender, everything I see in most stores is revoltingly retro - GLASS blender jars instead of lighter, shatterproof plastic or stainless... and no one else seems to still make a combo blender/mixer. I'd like to have a mixer for making cookies &c - but I don't have counter space for a separate machine.

First of all, Chuck Norris is my absolute hero. I met him many years ago before the Texas Ranger days. I was an aspiring young brown belt, and Chuck was, well, Chuck.

If Chuck had a blender, it would be a Blendtec. But Chuck doesn't need a blender. He can pulverize anything with a single blow.
