So..... Dumbledore is gay. That's no stretch. I do know that a sizable portion of my friends list secretly (or maybe not so secretly) wish Rubeus Hagrid to be gay.

I can almost feel the earth tremors as the right wing becomes apoplectic.

'She was asked by one young fan whether Dumbledore finds "true love."

"Dumbledore is gay," the author responded to gasps and applause.'

Uh... so is that a 'yes' or 'no'? I'm a little confused here. But maybe that's just the AP writer. *scratches head*

Though honestly count me as one person who's a little miffed about how this seems to be such a 'big thing'. It's rather like it was some sort of dirty secret almost. Granted I didn't read the books so I don't know the context outside of the movies and this article. But why couldn't the character be gay IN the books, huh? It just strikes me as backhanded - like I'm supposed to laud Ms. Rowling for having a gay character who's left in the closet even to us.

The revelation is germane to the plot. It illuminates a plot that was previously murky. There, you have your justification.

Yay! I <3 Dumbledore, so it's not surprising, tbh. There's no reference to partners, girlfriends etc. which compared to other characters is odd :-D

Whereas Hagrid has had girlfriends etc.

Now can we bring back Tolkien to confirm Gandalf is a big fat poof?
