Been quite busy around here lately, not much of it (to me at least) I deem very blogworthy as independent entries, so as is typical for me, I condense the timelines in a Reader's Digest sort of shithouse gazette manner.

You'd think working for a multibillion dollar defense/aerospace outfit I'd have much easier access to resources to modify a piece of test equipment and not have to resort to bringing it home and doing said modifications in my own garage.

I have a couple somewhat interesting memes (ten things and the music stick) that I should do, but am too lazy to do them. Besides, as I read some of them, I have found my more interesting things have also been done by others. I guess I cant be original.

Jeff has been able to completely shuck his neck brace and the surgery site is healing up beautifully. His latest x-rays revealed a broken C7 vertebra that upon further inspection in past records, has been there all along. It's not a problem, though we keep wondering where it came from. I think it was from my roughhousing, though that would be more likely to end up as cracked ribs from my bearhugs (it's happened before, but not to him). Word of caution: If I ever meet some of you, beware my enthusiastic bearhugs.

Speaking of cracked ribs, a couple weeks ago when there was snow and ice on the ground, my mom slipped and fell, landing on a bucket with herside, resulting in three fractured ribs. She's managing pretty well, all things considered.

People will learn from bad experiences to not follow a Mini Cooper S into traffic circles and tight turns when I am into some spirited driving. In a couple occasions, I left some cars sliding and spinning out even when I wasnt really pushing things. The handling of that car is addicting, and it's getting moreso with the mods I have been adding. Heh heh heh.

I have been missing my departed pets a lot lately. Reading posts involving others' pets, or seeing a Dalmatian on TV or in person sometimes sets me off into a funk afterwards.

I may be heading to NYC in the middle of April to take mom to a couple operas at the Met. Problem is, it will be mid-week. Not sure who, if anyone, would be around at that time.

I got a couple 1gig compact flash cards for my digital cameras. The thought of being able to take about 1800 2 megapixel shots on one card practically boggles my mind. I can set the cameras to their maximum resolutions (3.2 for the Canon, 5 for the Olympus) and still be able to take a ridiculous number of pictures. It's getting to the point these days where it had become as cheap in certain circumstances to buy a flash memory card and fill it up once than it is to buy the respective amount of film.

I've recently had two straight men comment on either my strength and/or the size of my arms. This makes me want to start back into powerlifting. My back, however, still reminds me to take it easy.

I need to run some cat5 cable to the garage to be able to make better use of the internet out there. The WiFi barely makes it usable as it is, but the distance makes the connection iffy. I need to have a separate AP out there. Reasons for that in a future entry. Maybe. lol

I've found myself reverting back somewhat into my previous 'loner' self of late. I seem to have lost interest in going to a lot of parties, bear events, etc. Dont know if it's a phase, 'postbeardom' or what. It's just odd for some reason. Any ideas?

MD got hit with an earthquake today. CA is still washing into the sea under all the rain they have had there. Methinks our environments have been swapped.

My blog here needs... something. A new style, more content, updating, more cowbell... something. It's getting stale. I see what so many others in my friend's list have been doing and I feel like I am just a boring dud in this realm.
