Old man take a look at yourself
Nov. 28th, 2007 11:18 pmThe other day, I caught my reflection in a window. Something didnt seem right. Later that day, in the bathroom mirror, I noticed that the face staring back at me was somehow unfamiliar. I mean, it's my face and all that. But then it dawned on me. I look much older. It seems the last few years of stress and loss have taken their toll, and it probably put ten years on my visage, let alone my increasingly creaking body.
I can expect my AARP card in about four years.
Seeing the old man in the mirror mostly put me in a funk for the rest of the day, but I kinda got over it soon enough. I just have to do things that make me feel young, like acting silly on occasions and listening to that confounded rock and roll music that's been the soundtrack to all those years. I'm not ready for the old folk's home. Yet.
What should I do to keep from geezin'?
