Are you a Christian? Do you believe in the Rapture? Do you feel the sense of privilege and a presumptive feeling of self-entitlement to know that not only are you a bona-fide Chosen One™, but know well in your heart that some of your own good friends and relatives fail to qualify for that same lofty club? Would you like to be able to leave some messages for the pitiful souls who are doomed to be Left Behind™? Most importantly, can you fork over 40 bucks a year to be able to leave said messages?

If the answers to the above questions (especially the last) is a resounding "YES!", have I got a website for you.

Wired Blogs has more.

You know what's worse? After reading your post, I Googled the site, and it's not the only one. There are others! But I know a secret. Since the Rapture is not supposed to be noticed by those left behind, that is, you are supposed to wake up one day and not be aware that God has called his flock to his bosom, all that hard drive space will be erased and the DNS entries deleted upon the Rapture anyway! And everybody's Internet cache, and Favorites entries, and browser History, and..... well, after all, God is all powerful.

pretty site
pretty fucking insane people

> We have set up a system to send documents by the email, to the addresses you provide, 6 days after the "Rapture" of the Church. This occurs when 3 of our 5 team members scattered around the U.S fail to log in over a 3 day period. Another 3 days are given to fail safe any false triggering of the system.

erm, so the rapture is defined as starting when 3 of 5 people don't log in. Hmm... so a good bout of flu should do it ?

I wonder if believing in this sort of crap gives people a way to avoid accomplishing anything of value while they are living. I mean, seriously, this garbage takes a lot of time, and the presumption is that it outranks everything else in importance.

Hey Scott, thanks for stopping by. And as thanks for the kind words, you are awarded one free usericon of your choice. ;)

That particular icon reminds me of that scene where Q is about to give a special gift to Data for his help when Q was drummed out of the Continuum. Data feared that Q would make him human (and Q says he would not think of doing something so awful), but instead he gave Data the gift of laughter, albeit fleeting. Data eventually stops laughing and when asked by Riker what all the hysterical laughing was for, data replies that he does not know, but it was wonderful. The scene was brilliant.

I know you are well aware of the episode in question. I said this to give other some insight. Though I would venture a guess that most who see the icon know what the deal is, at least around these pars. :)

And I think you are quite handsome as well.
