George Carlin, comedian and anti-establishment hero, has died of heart failure. He was 71.

This man was a big influence on me as I was growing up. I will miss his social commentary and biting wit. The man was a genius, on many levels. And I will always love how he rankled the prudes of this country.

Knowing about his heart issues and such - I've been dreading this news.

The man was a genius, as you say, and will be sorely missed by people who actually use their brains for something other than skull filler.

I heard about it on the radio as I woke up and again while in the shower as they talked more about some of the things he did, like his infamous 7 words you can't say on TV bit from the early 70's.

He will be missed for he got people thinking as well as laughing for his humor and biting wit.
