Halloween rings hollow

greatbearThis was the first Halloween in years that no one showed up at the door wanting treats. It hasn't been like this since mine was one of only a couple sparse houses on a gravel road. When the McMansions were built, the kids started showing up. I didn't mind at all, it was fun, and we made friends with everyone. Now we have a big bowl of candy that will probably be ferried off to work so as not to be a constant source of unhealthy snacks.
Today the last bits needed to make the monster server usable showed up less than 24 hours after ordering them. Newegg.com is awesome in this respect, while their standard shipping is UPS 3-day ground, in many cases to stuff shows up sooner. I now have 8 cores of Xeon processing goodness, with 4 gig of Kingston HyperX RAM. Being that I was mostly domestic today cleaning up the house on my day off, after dropping the parts into the monster I did not fire it up yet. Given the crazy nature of said monster computer, Halloween night would have been a perfect time to "give my creation liiiiiife". Maybe later this weekend.
