There's an old saying that says something to the effect that if all one has is a hammer, then everything around you is a nail.
The same thing is true for label makers/printers.
I have a couple standalone Brother labelers that are wonderful little beasts. They print onto adhesive vinyl backings using a thermal process, then overlay the completed label with a clear vinyl laminating tape. The labels are practically indestructible and weatherproof. The battery powered standalone printers are great for labeling circuit breakers, wires, jacks, camping gear crates, etc. The PC version I have uses tape up to 1 1/2 " wide and can print graphics or use any installed fonts. These make great little bumper stickers, and are good in industrial and garage settings. So, when I get out my tray of various color and size label tapes and start making labels for a particular task, I often make more that find themselves on various things. It's almost like being OCD.
Must. Label. Everything. Now.

Date: 2009-01-03 05:01 am (UTC)Having driven with my mother on many occasions, I can understand why.
Actually, my dad has printed that little label for every wife he's had. At this point, I should mention he's been divorced 3 times... though not necessarily for the SHUT UP thing.
