The Hospital
May. 5th, 2004 09:26 pmWell, this morning I took Mom to UMMC for her lung cancer operation. This afternoon, though groggy from anathaesia and pain killers, she was awake and talkative (well, maybe 'mumblative') and in better shape than I expected when I visited her in the ICU. The doctor said her lymph nodes checked out clear, he did not have to remove any more of the lung beyond what he had planned, and that mom is a trouper and handled the operation very well considering she is 78 years old.
I feel I aged a couple years in the past couple days.
I have to thank all who read my LJ and those who are also my r/t friends who have sent well wishes and good thoughts recently. It has not been easy on anyone here, but we will get through it; the aforementioned good vibes make a big difference. I can't thank you enough.
Pardon my lack of return commentary recently and upcoming, time for me is at a premium, but that does not lessen the appreciation I feel for everyone here and all you have done for us. I feel I should at least thank y'all and keep you posted.
Youse guys are the best.
