Is there anyone on my f-list who is currently a "Basic" or "Plus" LJ account holder and has been considering an upgrade to a paid account? Livejournal has this somewhat odd offer to current paid members and permanent account holders (me) which gives them the opportunity to send a $10 dollar "coupon" to basic/plus users toward an upgrade to paid account status. To wit:

Share the love with our $10 holiday coupons! If you're a Paid or Permanent user, you can send up to 10 Basic or Plus users a $10 coupon to upgrade to a one year paid account.

Recipients can upgrade for $9.95 (instead of $19.95) for one year by enrolling in our automatic payment plan or make a manual payment of $15 (instead of $25). Please note that these coupons are not transferable and cannot be used to renew existing paid accounts.

As it says, this cannot go toward paid account renewal (suckage), but does make the first year quite a bit cheaper. Is anyone interested in this? Let me know. The offer seems to last until 15 Jan., though I am not sure if the coupon has to be used on that date or before, or not. I can 'send' a coupon only to someone on my f-list, but if anyone reading this currently not forcing themselves to read my pointless blather on my friends list can let me know, I'll add and then send off the coupon.

Sorry about the delay, I was first aware of this on the 16th, but it slipped my mind (like so much else these days).

I had gotten one two weeks ago from someone and I greatfully declined. Still don't see what advantage to me a paid account is for now.

And I really don't need many many more icons.
:o)

You are one of three people I decided to keep up with when I basically decided to stop using LJ. I do like some of the communities, but have given up on LJ being a plus in my life. I realized I was watching other people's lives like a soap opera, rather than being part of their lives in any tangible manner. It was time for me to go, save three special guys. I don't even know what a paid user would benefit when LJ is mostly used for the communities.

Phil, could you send me one? I have not paid for LJ for a long time, instead I did one of those plus accounts which was fine until recently when they started putting adds that flash over the screen and force you to watch it for at least 5 seconds or more, very aggravating. Seeing as I am a cheap muther I would love saving the $10! If you need my email it's kjvales@gmail.com

Thank you for the offer. I am keeping all of my expenses as low as possible, given my current financial situation. I know it does not amount to a lot of money, but I have to make all the cuts I can.

Here's to a better new year!

I, too, would like one, Phil.

I've been thinking of making entries to my live journal again..
is the account that I would get the sort where I could make my journal friends only? That is how I would have to do this, because I have stalkers. :(

Sent!

However, you don't need a paid account to have a friends-only journal. If using the web-based entry system, select "Friends" in the drop-down menu to the left of the post button. To make previous entries friends-only, go back and edit each one, select "friends" in the box and save the entries. I know, kinda tedious, but made a bit easier if you select "Edit Entries" from the "Journal" menu option at the very top of your LJ pages.

Happy New Year!
