Color me sarcastic
Jan. 13th, 2010 02:49 pmA Michigan company has come up with a new punctuation mark. Unlike the well-known ones, this new punctuation is used to denote when the preceding sentence contains sarcasm.
"Statements have the period. Questions have the question mark. Exclamations have the exclamation mark. When you see the newest punctuation mark for sarcasm, you'll know the writer of that sentence doesn't literally mean what they're writing; they're being sarcastic," the company said in a release.

Best of all, the company is providing this new punctuation as an installable feature in hand-held devices and computers for a mere $1.99. It's a great day for the written word. It truly is!
Really!

Date: 2010-01-13 11:35 pm (UTC)Is it a $1.99 one time fee & "all the sarcasm you can eat" or do you have to pay them residuals each time you type something sarcastic? Do they offer a bulk rate? will they pro-rate the fees if you're only just slightly sarcastic? With each typed sarcastic comment do you get 3 free verbal sarcastic comments?
Damn, I wish I had known about this on Black Friday I would have stocked up.
Oooh...sarcasm gift cards!
I sure hope they have a sliding scale for those of us who just dabble in sarcasm, but not even enough to consider it a hobby.
