You know that pesky volcano with the awkward name that's been making life a living heck for a lot of Europeans in aeroplanes lately? Turns out, if looked at with a different perspective, it's quite beautiful.

Put that in your Eyjafjallajökull and smoke it.

It's stunningly beautiful....
What I want is to hear somebody pronounce that un-pronounceable name for me.

And I'm also curious why and how that hulk of a DC-3/C47 is there in some of those shots. Looks like it's been there a while...

I bet this is beautiful, I recall the fantastic footage of Mt St Helens when it first blew almost 30 years ago.

I have long been fascinated by volcanoes and volcanology.

The Earth and Jupiter's moon, Io, are the only two known bodies in our entire solar system driven by such forces.

Saturn's moon, Enceladus has geysers of frozen water. Neptune's moon, Triton, shoots plumes of liquid nitrogen.

Wow......

That was just plain lovely. I like the tracking shots--the photographer had to set up his camera on a track with a stepper motor to get the panning effect. A little thing that adds a lot.
Thanks for sharing this!
