Aw, man, how could I forget? It's also the 30th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back!

I should have used Post-It notes as reminders. They also turned 30 today. I coulda used them in high school. Too late to that party too.

As Yoda would have said to me, "That is why you fail."

Yeah, three decades ago. I remember it well. It felt like I had the whole world ahead of me, which I really did. I was a bundle of creativity and energy. Seemed like there was nothing I could not do. And, to be honest, I proved a lot of people wrong when they would say "You can't do (x)" when I indeed knew I could. The last ten years or so has done a lot to quell the energy, but there are still times when I still admire what I can do.

Let's see if I even make it another thirty. Or ten.

Wow, come to think of it, 30 years ago, I was 30! It is hard to believe that PacMan was around then and it seemed that postit notes were always around. Thirty was a rough time for me, a LOT of very hard work, low pay, but a very strong desire to work my way through it and by gum, I did.

I was 22 in May of 1980. I saw The Empire Strikes Back on the very first day it opened. I saw it alone that time. It was awesome! I'd never seen anyything quite like it. The special effects of A New Hope were far surpassed!

The asteriod chase scene is still one of my all time favorite movie moments.

I took dates to see it after that. it was more fun seeing it with someone else.

I think I saw Empire more than a dozen times that summer.

didn't see ESB at the time (famously at 4 or 5 I fell asleep during Star Wars - I never was a fan as a kid) but much later I got into it.

It is by far the best of the Star Wars movies.

And happy birthday Pacman!
