Today Jeff had a "nuclear" stress test, which involves injecting a contrast dye ("radiotracer") into the bloodstream, then taking 3D images after a pretty rigorous run on a treadmill then at rest. Just like the Six Million Dollar man, Jeff was hooked up to an ECG as well as other vital sign monitors as well. It's called a "nuclear" test because the contrast fluid is quite radioactive, and allows detailed images of the various blood vessels and how the blood flows. Damaged areas of the heart have slower or no blood flow, and can be seen easily via this test. I've had one of these done many years ago as well, and I got out my trusty little Geiger counter/radiation monitor and found myself quite radioactive even hours after the test. Today, I used that same little monitor on Jeff. And took video of it to boot.

Here is some good-natured and much needed silliness after a lot of uncertainty.

Jeff thanks everyone for their support through all of this. It made a ton of difference for both of us.

That was adorable! And I love how Kodi stood by, intently curious about what was going on.

Wow, he IS off the charts! :-P

That said, it's all for a good cause and glad even he's got a sense of humor about all this. :-)

So, he gets exposed to radioactivity, the gieger
counter goes off, and next thing ya know, Jeff is gonna have super powers!

Just make sure he makes himself a really good outfit!

Zoiks!

So I think I'm more amused by the fact that you actually *have* a Geiger counter.

Kodi also looked amused during those shenanigans ;-)

It's always so good to see and hear you fellows. Much love to you.

Kodi wants involvement with everything we do. Everything. There is a lot of shooing him off at times. ;)

I'm a geek. I'm supposed to have a Geiger counter!

I think this is our first public video.

I wonder if he'd set off TSA checkpoints or something....

More surprising is that where he works makes the TSA look like the Vienna Boy's Choir. ;)

I told him to make sure he got a letter from the doc stating he had a NST done just in case. He'll need to carry that around for a week or two. The radiotracer has a half-life of about six hours and gets eliminated from the body via the kidneys. You could tell by how strong the reading was when he pointed the tester at his kidneys. WHen I went through that, I was basically cold after about 4 days. It's best to drink lots of fluids and piss like a racehorse to get the stuff out of the body.

I love it!! ;-)

You've got a hot guy there, ...in more ways than one!

I suppose travel by air is off limits for a while! Also, I'm quite impressed that you actually own a geiger counter.

Glad to hear that Jeff's stress test went well.

*hugs to you both*

He has a note that can clear him for air travel, etc.

I thought everyone had a geiger counter. I got this one from a hamfest.

Hamfest? Is that anything like a sausage-fest? :)

1. Congrats to Jeff for the great news!

2. I've never heard your voice. You sound exactly as I'd imagined.

3. Your house is beautiful.

4. Kodi cracks me up, just waiting there.

5. You and Jeff are adorable together.

LOL @ "Nucular"!

Please have him remove his shirt (and pants, for that matter) next time you do one of these tests with a camera present. The radiation COULD be caused by particles settling in the clothing fibers during the manufacturing process.

Thank you.

Dr. Nickel.

Probably the latter. 13/8 time isn't easy.

Glad to hear Jeff is mending so well. He just may have some trouble making mayonnaise for a few days 'til he cools off.

I'm glad there were enough radioisotope tracer materials available for the test.

The medical world has been pretty peeved with Canada of late because most of the nuclear materials used for this kind of thing come from the Chalk River facility here, and mismanagement, on top of technical issues, has resulted in severe shortages.

I'm glad Jeff got his stress test, even more glad the results were good, and delighted you have incontrovertible proof of his hotness!

Oh, and take care if you shop in any Wal-Marts in the near future. I have no idea why, but for some reason, many of them are outfitted with radiation detectors at the entrances.
