Happy birthday, Mom

greatbearToday would have been my mother's 85th birthday. I still miss her intensely. All too often I find myself in situations where I want to, say, share a bit of good news, ask for a bit of advice or some other small thing that gives me pause and I have to remind myself she is no longer here. The holidays accelerate these occurrences, especially in the winter being that our most memorable days bookend the season starting with Thanksgiving and wrapping up with our birthdays a week and a day apart. You can also include Valentine's Day in there, since that was her name and we made a happy fuss over it.
