Okay, I've had several people ask me where all the cartoon avatars on various LJ pages (including mine). Try as I might, I did not remember nor did I bookmark the link, but I knew that somewhere in the terabytes (literally) of drives here I had saved the Flash app. I finally found it and uploaded it to my web space. It's freed from it's original page, which allows you to resize the resulting avatar by resizing the parent browser window.

The 'email' feature does not work, instead do a screen capture and paste into your favorite image editing program. Crop out all but the avatar. Keeping the avatar 'large' allows you to add details and touchups, then reduce the size to the 100x100px LJ dimensions before saving. This way you will have something more unique than using the app itself will give you

lol....well, you know, there are limited (like, NO) nose options, and they didn't have one that looked like a large dried apricot.

Come to think of it, there's no 16 chin option either. :)
