A lot has been going on over here. Pictures have been taken, but I haven't been in much of a posting mood. Big changes in store for the weeks to come, I'll elaborate later (maybe).

I'm in one of those moods where I am avoiding almost all news, current events and, of course, politics. I truly detest large numbers of the human race. Seeing various crap and reading about it, not to mention directly experiencing it only makes it far worse. So, the shields are up, defenses ready and hopefully nothing will cross my tripwires.

And things like this to remember there is some good left in this world:

Amazing how much joy comes from a little wagging tail.

That was totally cute.

It made me cry, though, because the poor little dear had been mistreated-but, she got a great new home! :)

It's a sad but ultimately uplifting video. I don't know the backstory of the dog and how she got into such a bad situation, and I get very angry at those who abuse/neglect animals. The point is that this little pooch was rescued and given care and love, and I hope that inspires others. The new owners can give every bit of their love to the little gal, and it will easily be returned a hundredfold. That's why pets are so awesome. :)

I normally don't care for Avril Lavigne or that overall style, but it worked so perfectly, as if it were written for this story. And a wonderful story it is.

i understand the no news thing. i am a political news junky and occasionally have to go on an enforced news black-out to keep my head from exploding.

I'm afraid I am going to blow a fuse or worse in public given the right (or wrong, as it were) trigger.

Well, that made me cry.
Sheesh, there goes the hard man pose.

A hard man is good to find. One that can be properly emotional, an even rarer find. ;)

Amen, Phil.

That story was a great antidote to the blues I was feeling when I saw it.

Here's a link to another dog-related video I found to be joy-inducing:

I feel sad for those who never get to experience the unbridled joy and love a dog can dish out. It's real, pure and never held back. People can learn a LOT from 'em. ;)

Looks like that's our next viral video; what a great dog.

(I just watched it again, and it always makes me want to go hug my dog.)

I know what you mean, Phil. My shields have been up for a while. I hate watching the news. Locally, I call it the "death and dismemberment report." Politics makes me angry. People make me angry.

But a few individuals come thru and make my day.

Yeah, the cool thing about the 'net is we can filter out so much of the bad, and find good that is just plain awesome.

This is why our 3 are rescues. It makes no sense to go buy a breeder's wares when there are so many souls out there that have been discarded and need a loving home.

My Dalmatian Patches was a rescue, and she ended up being the most awesome dog in the world. She developed a close bond between herself and Mom & I. Her empathy was genuine and acute. When we brought her home it didn't take too long for her to acclimate to us, the two cats, and her new home. She returned our love a thousandfold and was grateful to be part of the family. Mom and I were devastated when we lost her, and to this day I tear up each and every time I see a Dalmatian, in pictures, on screen or in person. Once our situation calms down a bit here and things seem a bit more "normal", Kodi will have a playmate. This will be a rescue as well.

Have you seen the magnetic doggie paws for vehicles that say, "Who rescued whom?" on them? What a perfect sentiment. :)
