Closer to home

greatbearFor the record, we were about a mile from the Columbia Mall while the shooting was taking place. We weren't on our way there or had any intentions to go, we were out for a much happier reason, and nothing was going to put a damper on that moment. I will expand on this later, 'cos it's really big stuff. We are fine, and I am mostly disappointed that the apparent solution to peoples' problems being at the barrel of a gun in a highly public place has made its way even closer to home. I will, however, keep focused on a series of happy events to come soon, and hopefully will involve my FB and LJ friends.

And it's to the point where school shootings are a weekly occurrence, instead of an isolated event.
