Izora Rhodes Armstead has begun her career as a backing vocalist for Sylvester. In 1980, she recorded with Marta Walsh a LP called "Two Tons O'Fun" that reached number in the Billboard Charts with the hit "'Earth Can Be Just Like Heaven". In 1982, the duet became The Weather Girls and they got one number one hit called "It's Raining Men" that also became a hit worldwide.
After 3 albums, The Weather Girls go separate ways and Izora Rhodes Armstead moved to Germany.
