One of the two The Weather Girls singers, Izora Rhodes Armstead died of heart failure last week. Izora Rhodes Armstead has begun her career as a backing vocalist for Sylvester. In 1980, she recorded with Marta Walsh a LP called "Two Tons O'Fun" that reached number in the Billboard Charts with the hit "'Earth Can Be Just Like Heaven". That was sad news. It was such a joyous song and brought back memories of much happier times in the gay community. Those few short years in which everything looked so promising.

How tragic, I remember singing that song as a young guy. (yah shock! How'd they not know?) She'll be a missed voice, but her song will live forever with us.
