This place is bugged

This morning on my way out the door for work, I noticed what I thought was a mosquito on the wall by the door, looking closer, it was actually a praying mantis, all of a half inch long. This evening when I got home I found the little guy in roughly the same area, picked him gently from the wall and put him in a bush outside the door. A little while later I spot one, two more. Uh oh. I then look around the living room on the drapes, walls and ceiling and find a few dozen more. This isnt counting the ones on the furniture and the carpet. Seems that they must have hatched from some ornamental grass brought in from outside.

Anyone need a few dozen micro-miniature praying mantis?



These things are feisty. They run all over the place and jump off my hands when trying to take pics. This is the best I could manage.

I think I am going to collect as many as I can and get them outside. Stragglers are welcome to try and live in the house plants.

both times i've been to burning Man, I've found Praying Mantises- exactly how, i have no idea, as the place is a bloody desert, and they were both green. Cute tho- i felt sorry for them, as there is little nough on the playa for thier kind

I love the praying mantis. I think it's a most interesting insect species. If I were to have an insect as a pet, it'd either be a praying mantis, or a walking stick.

what's gonna happen when they get bigger? you may want to consider warning houseguests you have a few mantis running around the house.
