You're talking about "stupidity" right? YOu can be dumb about something because you don't know any better. Stupidity is like consciously avoiding understanding. IMO.
I don't know what's going on, but I have to agree -- there's few things so painful as someone who shrugs something off with, "Well, why would I NEED to know that?!"
