Somebody's tired:

The little guy aint quite as little as he used to be. He wants so bad to be a big dog. He's learning to cock his leg up when peeing against trees, but he still seems to prefer squatting to pee. I cannot help but giggle when I see him go up to a tree, lift his leg in a proud stance and wizz away. I dont have the heart to tell him that you have to lift the back leg that's closest to the tree.
They grow up so fast.

Date: 2006-02-24 04:30 am (UTC)I should get offa my duff and start playing again, but I get frustrated too easily at my lost ability. At least they were recently dusted off when I reorged the studio/den a while back. Everything needs new strings too.

Date: 2006-02-24 03:00 pm (UTC)I have the same frustrations with my playing. It helps when you have someone to play with. Of course, I just want to be able to pick it up and play Dream Theater stuff!

Date: 2006-02-24 06:14 am (UTC)Left: Epiphone S500. Typical "Strat-Alike", from 1984. You guessed right. I was not looking to spend a lot of money on an ax, and found this thing. Korean made, heavy, great sustain, decent, though no-name single/single/humbucker, and a Floyd Rose-like locking tremolo that stays remarkably in tune no matter how you pound the whammybar. Most who pick this thing up are amazed at the clean action and good sound. Like anything of this vintage, the 5-way switch is constantly getting dirty and you need to row it back and forth a couple dozen times to hush it up.
Middle: Guild S-100. US made. I picked this up for a song (heh) at a yard sale, gave it some loving and a new phasing switch and was thrilled with what I ended up with. This one is a late 60s/early 70s vintage (not sure the exact date). Dual Guild humbuckers and fully adjustable Guild bridge. A sweet little guitar that likes heavier strings, plays very nice. Transparent red on mahogany. If you heard Kim Thayil/Soundgarden, you know this guitar.
Right: ESP B204 bass. I got this in '99 while I was still with Kit. Very well made, sweet action. EMG HZ active pickups, three band tone controls. Made in Korea. Very cool inset 6-staggered bolt neck. If the wood was of a better grain and quality this would be a downright gorgeous bass IMO. As it stands, it's laminated, and the grain could have been matched better. Does not affect the sound or action though. Very comfortable body design. Tight, punchy sound. I think it would stay in tune even if I tossed it off a cliff.
Not shown: Sigma six string and Fender 12-string acoustics.
Also not shown is me playing these days. I need to take some time and try and get back into practice. The Titanic wreck is not as rusty as I am. :-(

Date: 2006-02-25 11:37 pm (UTC)I see either a gibson or epiphone SG in the middle, the maple finish on the Bass is rather nice. Now I'm stumped on the Black guitar. Has inlays like an Ibanez, but looks a little thick.
Please update me buddy.......
